Geodätisches Koordinatensystem

The geodetic coordinate system is a terrestrial coordinate system where the origin is at the center of the reference ellipsoid, the prime meridian and the equatorial plane serve as the reference planes, and the normal to the ellipsoid at a given point is the reference axis.

The spatial position of a point is commonly described by three parameters:

  • Geodetic longitude;
  • Geodetic latitude;
  • Ellipsoidal height.
